We will welcome our new Pastor, Kevin, and his wife Tammy Carroll, and their four sons in early January, 2010. Kevin and his wife Tammy were both born in Kansas City, but Kevin spent many years growing up in Colorado Springs. Kevin joined the Army after high school and worked as a German Language Interpreter and Interrogator. At the end of his tour, he was released to the Army Reserve where he remained until 2000 working in Psychological Operations. Kevin graduated from Calvary Bible College in 1991, with a BA in Biblical Languages, and was ordained as an IFCA minister. He returned to Colorado where he ministered for a couple of years. Upon the birth of thier firstborn, Kevin felt the need to complete his education, and moved to Winona Lake, IN, where he attended Grace Theological Seminary for two years. While there, Kevin and Tammy joined Christ Covenant Church, a Reformed Baptist Church. It was at Christ Covenant that they began to move toward the Reformed faith. That process reached a peak in 1996, while Kevin was pastoring a rapidly growing church in Wisconsin. When Kevin embraced the doctrines of Grace and rejected dispensationalism, his pastorate ended. After leaving Wisconsin, the family relocated to Colorado, where Kevin worked in training with Visa in Denver, and then in the insurance industry in Colorado Springs. They were introduced to the PCA through the ministry of Dr. Bob Stuart and Cheyenne Mountain PCA. Kevin returned to seminary at Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, MS in 2003, believing God was still calling him to pastoral ministry. During Seminary, Kevin ministered at Calvary Presbyterian Church in Mize, MS, where he was instrumental in bringing into the PCA. After graduating in 2007, he became the Pastor of the Macon Presbyterian Church in Macon, MS. In his free time Kevin likes to write on his blog (http://www.reformedandlovingit.com), read, play strategic war games, and coach his kids in football. The kids: Matthew (16) is a Junior. He loves languages (like his dad) and has studies Indo-European languages. He enjoys discussing history and theology. Joseph (14) is in 8th grade. Joe loves playing football and being involved in Youth Group. Nate (12) is in 6th grade and loves football too, but with a passion! His team mates call him "Red Bull" because of his bright red helmet and his habit of tackling so hard the crowds groan. Ben (10) is in 5th grade. He likes sports too and while he plays football, he really excels at baseball. Last season he was the youngest child invited to play in the State All-Star Championship. Kevin and Tammy have been married since 1986. The CPC congregation called Pastor Carroll with 96% approval.
